Alexandra Crenian
An industry elite, she began her career performing on tours in Europe, Asia and North America. Alexandra has performed with today’s most iconic artists; Lady Gaga, Nick Jonas and Psy Gangnam Style (to name a few.)
Alexandra has had the opportunity to choreograph on world renowned artists in the musical productions of RENT and AMERICAN IDIOT, as well as famed circus performers in a sold out original show entitled, The Girlie Show, which had it’s premiere in the USA earlier this year. In Toronto, Alexandra was Lead Dancer and Dance Captain in Mixie. An intriguing show about cultural identity and growing up mixed race in Canada.
Setting her sights on the film and television industry, Alexandra continues to accumulate impressive credits through dance: Hairspray (the movie), The Next Step, Make it Pop, The Next Star, Full Out (the movie), Skins, American Gods and I, Martin Short, Goes Home. Her first booking in Los Angeles was dancing for Disney Zombies star, Meg Donnelly and is currently on the HULU sketch series, Sherman’s Showcase as both associate choreographer and actor.
Alexandra has choreographed many music videos for Canadian superstars, dance styles ranging from Hip Hop to Contemporary, Commercial Heels to partnering styles like Hustle and Salsa. A few of the artists include; Ruth B. (Lost Boy), Dragonette, Courage My Love and Josh Bogert. Before relocating to LA, she taught a Latin Grooves class at the Underground Dance Center.
It was there that Alexandra met her students, Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier prior to their first Olympics. This lead to private coaching and eventually being introduced to the other talented teams. She is delighted to be included on the Skate Canada roster and share her creative ideas with these Ice Dancers.
She believes proper dance education is essential for a performer’s career. Alexandra has her R.A.D. Elementary Ballet Exam Certification, and continues her dance and gymnastics training well into her professional career.
Alexandra is an inspiring presence within the industry and her community. For the past ten years, she has continued to choreograph, instruct and adjudicate all over Canada, and most recently, the USA. She would like to extend a THANK YOU to all those that continue to support the arts, diversity and equality.
